In this article we analyze more in depth the characteristics of this sector and the more than positive data of the \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tedae.org\/es\"><strong>TEDAE<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0(the Spanish Association of Technological Companies of Defense, Aeronautics and Space).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Billing and job creation keep breaking highs<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>turnover<\/strong> of THE companies of \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tedae.org\/es\">TEDAE<\/a> \u00a0has reached 11,838 million euros in 2018, increasing by 5.7% compared to 2017 maintaining the growing trend of previous years. If we separate this turnover by sector:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>44% for <strong>civil aeronautics<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>32% for <strong>defense aeronautics<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>15% for <strong>land and naval defense<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>8% for <strong>space<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1% for <strong>safety<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms <strong>of job creation, <\/strong>a total of 57,000 workers were accounted for in 2018 in this sector, characterized as high quality and skilled jobs. 19% of these positions are for women who, although still a long way from half, are within the average of women graduating from universities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exports<\/strong> account for 66% of production, the internal <strong>market<\/strong> has increased and investment in \u00a0<strong>R&amp;D&amp;I <\/strong>\u00a0has declined slightly and is at 9% of turnover.<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1937 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/acebrongroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/sector-aeroespacial-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\" srcset=\"https:\/\/acebrongroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/sector-aeroespacial-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/acebrongroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/sector-aeroespacial-1-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/acebrongroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/sector-aeroespacial-1-768x402.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>The space sector<\/h2>\n<p>The turnover of this sector has grown to 867 million euros in 2018. In addition, employment has increased by 5.4%, especially as an investment in technological training and human equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, its presence in Europe is increasing and participation in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/Space_in_Member_States\/Spain\"><strong>ESA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(European Space Agency) and <a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/european-union\/index_en\"><strong>European Union<\/strong><\/a> programmes is intensifying.<\/p>\n<h2>The aeronautical sector<\/h2>\n<p>In this sector, turnover has also increased, reaching EUR 9,029 million in 2018 and employment has increased by 0.3%.<\/p>\n<p>Its current challenges are to invest in <strong>human resources, <\/strong>as it is the key to the future of this sector.<\/p>\n<h2>The defense sector<\/h2>\n<p>In this sector, turnover has fallen, with EUR 4,946 million, and employment has also fallen. This decline in employment can be related to the segregation of the Security sector.<\/p>\n<h2>The security sector<\/h2>\n<p>This sector is separated from defense and space, in which it was integrated until now.<\/p>\n<p>Although its presence in total turnover is the lowest, it has an increasing evolution and in 2018 it has reached 155 million euros.
